Buyer's guide
Rehau, Kömmerling or Veka: a straight-talking comparison, no sales spin
How Germany's 'big three' profile makers stack up in Spain (2026)
This isn't a “good versus bad” decision — it's more like picking between Audi, BMW and Mercedes. Every one of them leads the market, every one uses a safe, lead-free recipe, and every one comes in a clean, warm white. What sets them apart is engineering philosophy: glossy or matte, brute frame strength or slimmer lines.
Rehau — Looks and Shine
Rehau's mantra is more glass, less frame. The brand is best known for its HDF (High Definition Finishing) surface — a flawlessly smooth, high-gloss finish.
- •Surface: Glossy, with sealed micro-pores — so the dust that settles in Spain wipes straight off.
- •Shape: Angled, contoured glazing beads that make the frame read lighter.
- •Feel: A bright, refined window that catches the sunlight.
Kömmerling — The Eco Benchmark
Germany's go-to brand in Spain — and with a factory on Spanish soil, it counts as a local. Add the lead-free GreenLine recipe and you get the sensible middle ground that's also the kindest to your home.
- •Surface: A satin, semi-matt finish that's lovely to touch — pitched right between Rehau and Veka.
- •Technology: A broad 76 mm line-up that slots neatly into Passivhaus requirements.
- •Feel: Understated, contemporary European styling.
Veka — Pure Engineering
Veka is all about solidity. It's the one brand that puts frame strength ahead of styling, relying on closed steel reinforcement — a square section running inside the profile.
- •Surface: A deep, classy matte. No shine, just a sleek, premium look.
- •Stability: The stiffest frame of the three — a real advantage in exposed, windy spots and on oversized sashes.
- •Feel: Dependable, sturdy, built like one piece.
The plain facts: where they differ in the detail
| Parameter | Rehau | Kömmerling | Veka |
|---|---|---|---|
| Feel under the hand | Smooth and glossy | Silky satin | Soft, velvety matte |
| In direct sun | Reflective shine | Gentle sheen | No glare at all |
| Tone of white | Warm, milky | Cool, bluish-white | Neutral white |
| Steel reinforcement | P / G section | Multi-shaped section | Sealed square section |
| Stands out for | Effortless cleaning | All-round balance | Holding its shape |
So which one belongs in your home?
There's no single right answer — it comes down to where you live and what matters most to you. Got a favourite already? We're happy with any of them and know each system inside out.
- — Chasing light and clean looks? Rehau Delight lets in more daylight, and its glossy face keeps looking factory-fresh.
- — Top floor or a windy exposure? Veka, with its closed steel core, is the safest bet.
- — Building for energy efficiency? The Kömmerling 76/88 range is a smart pick for warm Spanish homes.
No need to guess. We'll cost the same job across different profile systems, walk you through where the price gaps come from, and help you decide with the full picture in front of you.

FAQ
Kömmerling Windows: Your Questions Answered
What do Kömmerling windows cost?
It depends on the model, size and glazing, but as a guide, fully installed PVC windows in Spain usually land between €280 and €480 per m², and a premium German system like Kömmerling sits in the upper part of that range. A single 100×100 cm tilt-and-turn comes in around €335 fitted. Ask us for an exact figure on your sizes.
How long is the Kömmerling guarantee?
The profile carries a 50-year guarantee against manufacturing faults and discolouration. On top of that we add 2 years on the fitting and 5 years on the hardware.
Kömmerling PVC or aluminium — which is better?
It comes down to the job. Kömmerling PVC insulates better and costs less, so it wins for most homes. Aluminium earns its place on very large glazed openings or where you want the slimmest possible sightlines for a minimalist look.
How long from order to fitted windows?
Manufacturing runs roughly 3 to 4 weeks once the order is confirmed. Fitting out a flat or house is usually wrapped up in 1 to 2 working days.
Will they pass in an apartment block?
Yes. Kömmerling offers more than 50 laminate finishes — wood-effect and RAL colours — so you can match whatever your building manager or community of owners requires.
Do shutters come with the windows?
Shutters are quoted on their own. We can supply built-in monoblock roller shutters or an external box, and both work with every Kömmerling model. As a rough guide, a monoblock shutter adds about €180 per window.
