Cortizo Windows in Spain: Aluminum and PVC

Headquartered in Galicia, Cortizo is one of Spain's flagship manufacturers. It built its name on COR VISION aluminum sliders whose frames all but disappear behind the glass. When the brief calls for wall-to-wall views on a villa or a contemporary build, few systems come close.

Rehau vs. Cortizo: Battle of the Materials

German Practicality or Spanish Style?

Picking between Rehau and Cortizo is a bit like choosing soft cashmere over a sharp tailored jacket.Rehau (Germany) is all about warmth and hush.Cortizo (Spain) sets the bar on design — clean lines, oversized spans and architect-grade good looks.

Rehau — Cozy and Quiet (PVC)

The German profile suits anyone who puts thermal comfort first.

  • Comfort: PVC delivers strong energy savings straight out of the box.
  • Quiet: The material soaks up street noise, so rooms feel calm and shut off from the world.
  • Value: Rehau lets you fit high-quality glazing without stretching the budget.

A natural fit for bedrooms, kids' rooms and private corners of the home.

Cortizo - Architectural Design (Aluminum)

Spanish aluminum is for design lovers and anyone drawn to a minimalist look.

  • Light: Ultra-slim frames and concealed sashes mean you notice the view, not the profile.
  • Scale: Floor-to-ceiling sliders (3+ meters tall) are everyday territory for Cortizo.
  • Longevity: Rigid metal, tough coatings and crisp geometry that holds up for 80+ years.

The obvious pick for living rooms, terrace openings and wide-open views.

Why so many clients mix both systems

We think about glazing room by room. Every space does a different job, and the windows should follow suit:

Bedrooms and kids' rooms - Rehau

Priority: peace and comfort. You rarely need a wall of glass here. What matters is privacy, warmth and proper quiet for a good night's sleep — exactly where Rehau shines.

Living rooms and terrace openings - Cortizo

Priority: scale and the wow factor. In the spaces where you host and spend your days, size counts. Cortizo sliders dissolve the line between inside and out and flood the room with light.

All aluminum, or a smart mix?
Want one consistent material throughout, aluminum down to the last opening? We'll happily build the whole project in Cortizo. Prefer to splash out on the panoramic spaces and keep the bedrooms classically snug? A hybrid layout is usually the smarter call.

Still on the fence?

Share your home plans and we'll quote it two ways: all-aluminum glazing throughout, and a Cortizo + Rehau mix — so you can weigh budget against looks side by side.

Cortizo Technologies

The engineering that puts Cortizo aluminum windows in a class of their own

Concealed Frames

COR VISION hides the profile almost entirely, so the glass runs floor to ceiling with nothing breaking the view.

RPT Thermal Break

A thermal break (Ruptura de Puente Térmico) inside the aluminum profile keeps heat in, with insulation that holds its own against PVC.

Oversized Spans

Aluminum carries structures up to 6 meters tall with sashes up to 3 meters wide — made for panoramic glazing.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Cortizo

How much do Cortizo windows cost?

For thermal-break aluminum (Cortizo COR 70 Industrial, Uw 1.4) at 100×100 cm, supply prices run about €262 fixed, €468 casement, €504 tilt-and-turn and €683 sliding — ex-works, before VAT and fitting. A minimalist COR VISION glass wall around 4 m wide and 2.6 m tall lands near €4,500 (basic) to €7,300 (PLUS) to supply, with the very largest spans up to 11 m reaching roughly €18,700. These are supply figures; installation is extra.

Why does Cortizo aluminum cost more than PVC?

You are not paying for a lower Uw — a premium PVC tilt-and-turn (Uw 0.80) actually insulates better and supplies for about €297 at 100×100, versus €504 for the aluminum equivalent. The premium buys slim sightlines, structural strength and the huge spans PVC simply cannot reach. It is a design and engineering choice, not an energy one.

Is Cortizo a Spanish brand?

Yes — Cortizo is wholly Spanish, manufacturing in Galicia. It is one of Europe's largest aluminum systems makers and exports worldwide, which is why local stock and quick Spain-wide delivery are a real advantage.

What projects suit Cortizo best?

Cortizo aluminum is at its best on villas with panoramic glazing, penthouses, poolsides, terraces, high-end commercial spaces, lofts and architect-led designs — anywhere big openings and slim frames carry the look.

Can I fit Cortizo in an apartment?

You can, but it rarely pays off. For standard apartment openings a PVC system from Rehau or Kömmerling costs less and insulates better at those sizes. Save Cortizo aluminum for the big sliders and statement spans where it earns its place.

What about installation, VAT and tax relief?

Fitting typically adds about €80-150 per window (large sliding walls and upper floors cost more), with removal of the old units around €20-40. Renovation work carries reduced 10% IVA (21% on new builds), and the 40% IRPF energy-efficiency deduction is available through the end of 2026.
