Cortizo Millennium Pivot is more than a door — it is an architectural statement. The system breaks conventional stereotypes about what a home entrance should look like. Instead of classic hinges, it uses a rotation mechanism on a vertical axis offset from the sash edge. This technical solution allows weight redistribution and the creation of truly gigantic structures up to 2.1 metres wide and 3 metres high, which nonetheless operate with featherlight ease.

At the heart of the system lies a powerful profile with 80 mm installation depth and high thermal insulation values, making it ideal for premium private residences. The Millennium Pivot design is a celebration of minimalism: the option for concealed handles with LED lighting, finishing panels of stone, ceramic, or aluminium, and full coplanarity (sash flush with frame). This is the choice for those who want to impress guests before they even step inside.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions about Cortizo Millennium Pivot

What is the main difference between Pivot and a conventional door?

The main difference is the axis of rotation. A conventional door hangs on hinges at the side, while a Pivot rotates on pins in the floor and ceiling, offset from the edge. This changes the movement trajectory: part of the sash swings inward while the main part swings outward, creating a wide and striking passage.

How does such a door lock?

Millennium Pivot is typically fitted with automatic electromechanical locks. When the door closes, the bolts extend automatically. It can be opened with a key, code, card, fingerprint, or via a smartphone app.

Are there drafts from under such a door?

Since Pivot doors do not have a classic threshold with a seal (to avoid obstructing rotation), airtightness is ensured by two automatic drop-down thresholds (guillotines). When the door closes, they lower to tightly seal the gap between the floor and the sash.

How much space does the door take up when opening?

It is important to consider that when opening, the rear part of the sash (the part behind the rotation axis) swings into the room or opening. Typically, the axis is offset by 1/3 or 1/4 of the width. This space must be kept clear of furniture or rugs.

Is this design secure?

Absolutely. The 80 mm profile, aluminium cladding sheets, and robust frame make the door panel extremely rigid. Combined with multi-point locking, such a door represents a serious barrier against intruders.

Is installing such a door difficult?

Installing a Pivot door is more complex than standard installation and requires high qualifications. Special attention is paid to floor preparation, as the bottom support bears the entire weight of the structure (up to 250 kg) and must be perfectly secured to the concrete base.
