Schüco AWS 75 PD.SI (Panorama Design) is the answer to modern architecture's demand for "more glass, less frame." Engineers managed to reduce the visible profile width to record values while maintaining all thermal characteristics of the SI series.

Externally, the sash is virtually invisible (concealed sash effect), while inside the profile forms a single plane with the frame (flush look). This is the ideal solution for ribbon glazing and integration into curtain wall facades where visual lightness is important.

System structural parameters:

  • Installation depth: 75 mm.
  • PD (Panorama Design): Uniquely narrow visible frame width. Minimum width (frame + sash) is only 55 mm.
  • Sash: Concealed (not visible from outside), in the same plane as the glass.
  • Sealing: Optimized gasket system ensuring airtightness with minimal profile dimensions.
  • Hardware: Specialized hardware for PD series, allowing handles without escutcheons (design handles).
  • Drainage: Concealed drainage system that doesn't disrupt facade aesthetics.

Glazing options:

  • Infill thickness: from 26 to 50 mm.
  • Glass unit types: Designed for structural glazing (bonded glass unit), providing additional rigidity and allowing large-format sashes with narrow profiles.

Certified characteristics:

  • Thermal insulation (Uf): from 1.7 W/m²K.
  • Window thermal insulation (Uw): up to 0.9 W/m²K (with triple glazing).
  • Sound insulation (Rw): up to 46 dB.
  • Burglar resistance: up to RC2 class.
  • Air permeability: Class 4.
  • Water tightness: Class 9A.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions about Schüco AWS 75 PD.SI

What does the PD abbreviation mean?

PD stands for Panorama Design. Schüco uses this term for product lines with maximally narrowed profiles to create panoramic views and modern aesthetics.

How warm are these narrow windows?

Despite the narrow width, the system belongs to the SI (Super Insulation) class. Thanks to optimized thermal bridges, window Uw can reach 0.9 W/m²K, suitable for energy-efficient homes.

What's the difference from standard AWS 75.SI+?

The main difference is in design and profile width. Standard 75.SI+ has a visible width from 90-100 mm with classic appearance. PD.SI — from 55 mm with minimalist appearance. Technically, PD also requires structural glazing.

What handle suits this window?

The system allows both standard handles and exclusive Schüco handles without escutcheons. Concealed TipTronic drives for handle-free operation are also possible.

Is it difficult to clean these windows?

No, maintenance is standard. Because profiles are in the same plane (flush), less dust accumulates on the inner frame part since there are no unnecessary ledges.

Can it be integrated into a facade?

Yes, AWS 75 PD.SI integrates perfectly into Schüco FWS 35 PD and FWS 50 facade systems, allowing opening elements visually indistinguishable from fixed parts of the facade.
